Many within the industry are succeeding in bucking the trend of decline that the current economic climate has brought. Our industry has always been resilient but only because we have taken the opportunity to invest.
As we progress away from recession we all need to ensure that we have the staff available to fulfil our customer needs. One, dare I say economic way of achieving this is to ‘grow your own’. Apprentices are the future trades people, supervisors and managers of our industry and can help in delivering a competitive solution to your staffing issues.
Annual JIB labour Reports have demonstrated a doubling of those electricians aged over 61 in the last 10 years. A skills gap exists within the industry as fewer and fewer young people are given the opportunity that we all once had.
Is it time to future proof your business by employing an apprentice?
